Read it at first sight

Interslavic is built from the words the Slavic languages share. That is why a Pole, a Czech, a Croat or a Ukrainian can read it without having learned it. Slavij shows every new word next to its twins:

How Slavij teaches

Guess first

Every new word starts as a guess from your own language, so you learn by recognising, not by cramming.

Four kinds of exercises

Choice, listening, matching and typing. Answer checking is forgiving: Latin or Cyrillic, and missing diacritics count as almost right.

Who would understand you

After each lesson, see which Slavic languages share the words you just learned.

Review that sticks

Spaced repetition brings words back just before you would forget them.

The Cyrillic alphabet

The 29 letters in four small groups, with a practice drill.

Endings

Practise noun cases and the verb and adjective forms of the words you know.

A dictionary that shows the family

Search in Latin, Cyrillic or your own language. Every entry shows its cognates across 12 Slavic languages (Czech, Slovak, Polish, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Russian, Slovene, Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, Macedonian and Bulgarian), with full declension and conjugation tables.
